Style Weekly : Fall’s Hottest Hairstyles in 3 Steps or Less!

Sleek Side-Part

Taylor Swift’s pin-straight strands “add an edge without taking away from her dress,” says the singer’s stylist Jemma Muradian. “It’s a smart look that goes well with fall fashion.”

STEP ONE Flip head upside-down and blow-dry hair. Gently rake hands through hair, but keep strands from looking greasy by limiting contact with the roots: “Touching your scalp causes it to release natural oils,” explains Muradian.
STEP TWO Flat iron side-parted locks with one slow movement from roots to ends and spritz with hairspray

Polished Bedhead
Zoe Saldana’s glossy, tousled locks “blend femininity and sexiness, with a slight edginess,” says Tresemme stylist, Mara Roszak, who created this look.

STEP ONE Comb anti-frizz cream through damp hair and blow-dry smooth.
STEP TWO Beginning an inch away from the roots, create loose curls with a medium iron. “Let the strands twist naturally as they wrap around the barrel,” advises Roszak.
STEP THREE Shake hair out with fingers and mist with finishing spray.

High, Textured Bun
“This updo is everything that Vanessa Hudgens is: hip, current, casual and sexy,” says the actress’s stylist Bruce Wayne.

STEP ONE Apply thickening cream to damp hair and blow-dry with a large round brush for volume.
STEP TWO Mist-in shine spray. Pull hair into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic.
STEP THREE Gently wrap locks to form a bun and hold the updo in place with hairspray and “as many bobby pins needed to make it feel secure,” says Wayne.

Soft, Bouncy Curls

Katy Perry’s stylist Danilo created “glamorous, yet effortless looking” spirals for the MuchMusic Video Awards.

STEP ONE Mist well-conditioned hair with leave-in conditioner and volumizer before blow-drying.
STEP TWO Side-part hair and set with large rollers. Curl the bangs and crown backwards and wrap the sides under and down. “The direction of the set is key, because it creates the volume and flow of the finished style,” says Danilo.
STEP THREE Once hair cools, work styling cream through the spirals with fingers and spray with texturizer.
