New “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez showed off her signature curves on New Year’s Eve in a sexy sequined $2,500 Herve Leger bandage dress upon arriving at Love — The Beatles Cirque du Soleil show — at The Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada. Caramel-colored locks, stacked bracelets, a diamond cocktail ring, and mirrored peep-toes completed her flawless look.

Meanwhile, at Marquee nightclub in Sin City’s swanky new Cosmopolitan hotel, former “City” star Whitney Port arrived for the Jay-Z/Coldplay New Year’s Eve concert in a fashion-forward Jill Stuart frock, statement necklace, and strappy stilettos.

Also spotted sporting a similar shade … Taraji P. Henson (“Hustle & Flow”), who rocked a $215 ruffled Elizabeth and James micro mini and $800 gold Yves St. Laurent sandals.

2010 was the year we wanted everything in Drew Barrymore’s wardrobe, but now it seems 2011 is shaping up to be even better! Barely out of the style spotlight, the actress has stormed into the new year working a fashion-forward zingy orange gown from Jil Sander’s lust-some SS11 collection. And sticking to the rules of colour, Drew let the dress do all the work, with a simple black Hunting Season clutch and loose, fuss-free, dip-dyed locks completing the look.

Lauren Conrad looked appropriately easy and breezy in a draped Quail minidress for Covergirl’s 50th anniversary celebration in West Hollywood. Conrad embodied classic California glam, even as a brunette! The designer accented her soft beige dress with Jimmy Choo gladiators and a stack of diamond bracelets from Dana Rebecca Designs.

LC’s former “Hills” co-star, Whitney Port followed closely behind in a pale blue frock and a smile. Sparkling footwear and a gold clutch completed her pretty look.

Presenter Cat Deeley mingled with Hollywood’s finest at the CoverGirl Anniversary party in LA wearing a stunning black sequinned vintage style gown. She wore her trademark long locks in soft, centre-parted waves.

There’s no stopping Taylor Swift these days when it comes to stunning style! The gorgeous singer posed for pics at the CoverGirl 50th Anniversary celebrations in a show-stopping sequinned black sweetheart Mark & James dress teamed with strappy D&G heels. She added some extra sparkle with Neil Lane jewels and a slick of red lippy for a final flourish. We love it!

For the People’s Choice Awards, Taylor Swift complemented a blush J. Mendel design with strappy nude sandals and coral, diamond and pearl Neil Lane jewelry. Sweet has never looked so sexy. Swift’s ballerina-ready dress seemed to defy gravity with its sultry illusion neckline.

Twilight mega-star Kristen Stewart was a veritable golden girl at the People’s Choice Awards in a spangly minidress and lusciously-loose locks. K-Stew, who attended the ceremony on the arm of her on-and off-screen beau Robert Pattinson, picked up the coveted award for Favourite Movie Actress. Meanwhile, her latest film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, was nominated Favourite Drama Movie and Favourite Movie over all. Proof positive that everything this girl touches turns to gold.

Emma Roberts worked a ruffled Dior LBD to perfection at the People’s Choice Awards, which she teamed with a pair of Brian Atwood’s blush satin Maniac pumps. We heart!

Minka Kelly arrived at the People’s Choice Awards in a lace Vivienne Westwood bustier mini accessorized with suede Brian Atwood pumps and Neil Lane diamonds.

Black Swan star Mila Kunis showed off her style prowess at the People’s Choice Awards in a gorgeous olive-hued strapless ruffled dress by J.Mendel. Keeping her look pared-down but very pretty, the actress showed off her silky, luscious locks wearing them in a smooth side-parting.

Selena Gomez’s first of two outfits at the People’s Choice Awards was this delicate frill-shouldered number. Nude is a hot colour for the new season and the blush shade of her dress complemented her dark locks and olive skin perfectly. The teen sensation, who picked up the gong for Favourite Break-Out Artist, later changed into a flowing maxi-dress for her performance of “A Year Without Rain” with her band, The Scene.

Selena Gomez performed at the People’s Choice Awards in a cascading butterfly-print Irina Shabayeva gown, Isharya hoops and strappy metallic platform heels.

Red heels and a Maia N. clutch were colorful additions to Malin Akerman’s pretty pleated J. Mendel sheath and Neil Lane diamonds at the People’s Choice Awards.

Gossip Girl Leighton Meester warmed up for her stunning appearance at the People’s Choice Awards by first hitting the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The gorgeous actress wore a simple but chic Versace Resort 2011 sleeveless dress with cute patterned pocket as she promoted her new movie Country Strong.

Leighton’s muted grey dress and Brian Atwood pumps were given a shot of colour at the People’s Choice Awards thanks to a coral-coloured corsage and matching drop earrings. Make like Leighton and inject your winter wardrobe with a neon accessory or two to get you in the mood for spring.

Leighton launched the Portraits of Hope Art Project in a Missoni graphic print mini and cardigan, suede platform booties and a structured tote.

At Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, Jennifer Hudson accentuated her shrinking waistline in a red-hot dress, while fellow diva/Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie stepped forward in a strapless studded mini, which featured a tulle train.

Another fan of brilliant black dresses is former “Firefly” star Summer Glau, who impressed in a textured head-turner and fab cocktail ring at the premiere of NBC’s superhero drama “The Cape.”

Ellen Pompeo suited it up in a sleek black pantsuit and a slicked-back bun at the grand opening of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Style Weekly : Two-Toned Hair Locks

From anti-aging haircare to the perfect hair cut, Hollywood divas are always in on the latest ways to have healthy, youthful-looking locks.

And now a hair color effect called ombre is steadily becoming a celebrity and city girl favorite. “Ombre” literally means gradation in French, which refers to the dark-to-light fade of color that is used in the technique. Instead of color that starts at the root, darker roots blend into a lightened mid-shaft and end.

It’s a beachier, more natural looking version of the enduring “visible root” trend.

“I think it speaks to the overall organic and sustainable trend going on right now. No one wants to spend all of their time in the salon anymore, and this look means longer time between visits because it’s so natural-looking. There’s no color line of demarcation at your roots,” says Dimitrios Tsioumas, creative color director of New York and Boston’s Mizu salons, where colorists perform the effect.

The term was taken from the fashion world, where the ombre style of diffusing color is used for fabric, and is most often seen in kimonos.

“In the hair industry, we like to translate what we see in the fashion industry into hair. We’ve seen many designers showcase the ombre effect in their collections. We’re making it more natural and softer to fit into our current lifestyles,” adds Tsioumas.

As we told you last season, starlets like Ashlee Simpson are bucking conventional hair colour for the two-toned effect. The best way to achieve this look, says veteran colourist Douglas Timleck of Salvatore Leonetti Salon in Toronto, is to use a highlighting method called balayage. Instead of the usual foils or cap, “it’s hair painting that starts from the roots or lower down the strands.”

Timleck stresses that if done in a “softer, more natural method, a lot of women can carry off this look well.” Rachel Bilson’s style, for example, shows off subtle gradations on beachy highlights.

This hairstyle “works very well for younger people with a strong sense of themselves and their fashion direction,” say Timleck. Drew Barrymore’s dark crown and peroxide-dipped tips are extremely directional.

We also adore Nicole Richie’s warm iteration, which was created by celeb-fave George Papanikolas of the Andy Lecompte Salon in West Hollywood. Papanikolas first took Richie’s hair several shades darker to a medium light brown, and then used balayage technique to add highlights, starting at her natural center part. Using bleach, he painted golden blonde v-shaped tips on the ends of her hair. Then, to graduate the color, he went through her hair in big horizontal sections, backcombing each one before applying bleach in an arrow shape to the ends of the hair.

Another essential to consider about this style is the use of complementary tones. Leighton Meester’s bleached out waves are blended perfectly into her colour. Timleck says “it’s a must.”

Papanikolas applied a similar regime for Shanae Grimes’ shoulder-length locks. First he gave her balayage highlights to add progressively lighter color to her hair, followed by a round of bleach at the tips to emphasize the contrast.

Lindsay Lohan also loves keeping her ends light and roots darker. Lilo looks super hot in this amazing hair color.

Look Of The Week : Alba, Drew, Hendricks, Aniston, Maria

Jessica Alba rocked a sparkly zig-zag dress with power shoulders and a pair of super-sexy strappy Christian Louboutin sandals at the film premiere of Machete in LA.

For a visit to the N.Y.C. studios of The Late Show with David Letterman, Drew Barrymore paired a Richard Chai top with Camilla and Marc trousers and accessorized with YSL pumps and a Samantha Wills snake ring.

Christina Hendricks — who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for her wonderful work on “Mad Men” — made a dramatic entrance at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards thanks to her beautifully belted Christian Siriano gown, signature red lips, and fiery head of red.

Her latest film, “The Switch,” only earned a measly $8 million at the box office this past weekend, but at least its star, Jennifer Aniston, looked like a million bucks upon arriving at “The Daily Show” to promote the project in a beaded Dolce & Gabbana mini and matching Gucci peep-toes.

At an N.Y.C. event for Evian’s Baby on the Inside campaign, Sharapova dressed up a T-shirt with a double-breasted navy blazer, sequined shorts and velvet peep-toe booties.

Drew Barrymore : Radio One ‘Plaid’ Visit

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long left their hotel in London today for a visit to Radio One. Their UK promotion continued after the Going the Distance premiere and party last night, where they got close on the blue carpet.

Her fedora matched her flannel shirt, which matched her velvet oxfords, and skinny jeans completed the ensemble. Drew was the only one that appeared on air talking to Sara Cox, although Justin made her laugh outside the studio window by miming amusing things!

She said that they have a past together and that’s where the boundaries of that conversation are always going to be, but he is one of the funniest people she knows.

Look Of The Week : Zac, Vanessa, Drew, Julia, Selma

At a Details event in the Hollywood Hills, a stubble-sporting/more mature-looking Zac Efron — who happens to be the mag’s September cover boy — paired his simple yet chic ensemble with arm candy in the form of gal pal Vanessa Hudgens, who also looked lovely in a LBD and sky-high heels.

Once a wild child and terrible dresser, Drew Barrymore has quietly become one of Hollywood’s most respected actresses and style mavens. At a star-studded soiree on Tuesday night, the 35-year-old took a retro fashion risk (that paid off) in a vintage chain mail frock and nude Yves St. Laurent platform pumps.

Across the coast at the NY premiere of “Eat Pray Love,” the film’s star, Julia Roberts, rocked the red carpet (for the first time in a long time) by showing off her gorgeous gams in Diane von Furstenberg shorts and Roger Vivier sandals. A Stella McCartney blazer and Coomi bangle bracelets completed her look.

Call us crazy, but we’re kinda in love with the beautifully understated look Selma Blair delivered upon arriving at the premiere of “Middle Men.” The former “Hellboy” babe’s strapless Stella McCartney organza dress and $700 Alexander McQueen peep-toes made for the perfect pair.
