IFP’s 20th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards

Proving that she can look like a million dollars in just about anything, “Black Swan” actress Natalie Portman wowed the crowd at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in a $199 one-shoulder Lanvin for H&M frock. The stylish star completed her look with black velvet heels, Tiffany & Co. earrings, and a silver studded Christian Dior clutch.

Joining Black Swan co-star and real-life pal Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis looked adorable in a navy Oscar de la Renta Spring 2011 corset dress cinched with a studded belt.

Few stars could pull off this daring lace mini, but it was a stunning choice for Hilary Swank who paired it perfectly with leg-lengthening strappy heels and bouncy waves pushed back from the crown.

Anne Hathaway has been a red carpet whirlwind of late promoting her current film Love and Other Drugs, but she proved she still has a stunning dress or two up her sleeve as she stepped put in this figure-hugging vintage rose-print shift by Dolce & Gabbana.

We love nothing more than a girly girl working menswear. Check out Leighton Meester in this grey peg-legged suit and loose tie. The Gossip Girl actress softened the look with a pair of satin pumps and a green clutch back. Blair Waldorf wouldn’t be caught dead in this look but Leighton pulls it off with aplomb.

Winona Ryder had opted for an ultra-girlie look at the Gotham Film Awards in a ballerina-esque lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana completed with a wavy up-do and delicate kitten heels.

Redhead beauty Julianne Moore worked a funky draped feather-print mini, sheer plum-coloured tights and wavy locks at the night to celebrate the best in independent film.

While most of her fellow stars opted for mini lengths, Amanda Peet went boho chic for the Gotham Independent Film Awards in a sheer layered maxi topped with a neat velvet blazer.

Amber Tamblyn donned a neutral toned cocktail dress with a simple cut and a soft center front ruffle. Amber paired her loose bun with chain embellished earrings.

Julianna Margulies vamped up her black dress by Narciso Rodriguez with a swipe of tomato red lipstick.

Ricky Martin & Julianne Moore : ‘Out’ In December

Out Magazine is celebrating 200 issues with Ricky Martin, Julianne Moore and three other celebrities on the cover who have had major breakthroughs for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trangender community.

They are part of the 100 most compelling people who are profiled in Out’s December issue.

Here’s what Ricky & Julianne had to share :

Ricky Martin on coming out : “I am Hispanic, and I am a gay man, and they both struggle. Is it a big responsibility? It can be as big as I want it to be.”

As for Out’s Artist of the Year, Julianne Moore on her recent movie role : “I don’t think a movie like The Kids Are All Right could be made if this wasn’t the way that families are living today all over the United States. I choose a part because I’m interested in the role, the director, the script. I don’t go looking for something that seems political, but by virtue of the roles being intensely personal, it becomes that way.”

Look Of The Week : Eva, Julianne, Elizabeth, Ciara, Ashlee, Sharapova, Ricci, Heidi, Sienna, Kylie

Eva Mendes rocked the red carpet at the re-release of “La Dolce Vita” during the 5th International Rome Film Festival in a ruby-colored Gucci gown, which featured a tantalizingly twisted bodice. Tasteful jewels and muted makeup completed her flawless look.

Ms. Mendes delivered a second (and equally spectacular) knockout thanks to the crystal-and-fringe-adorned Atelier Versace stunner she wore the previous evening to the Roman premiere of “Little White Lies.”

Also looking amazing in Italy … four-time Oscar nominee Julianne Moore, who arrived for a screening of “The Kids Are All Right” in a one-shoulder Giorgio Armani masterpiece, which she paired with a Bulgari clutch and matching snake cuff. More…
