Mischa Barton : ‘Awkward’ Lady Of The Moment

As Marissa Cooper in hit TV show The O.C. she was considered the epitome of the beautiful California girl, covering countless magazine covers.

But these days, Mischa Barton has to resort to some dubious methods to get attention.

The 24-year-old stepped out in Los Angeles on Tuesday (November 23) wearing the latest in a seemingly endless line of eccentric and highly questionable outfits.

Dressed in a leopard-print coat, pink dress under a baggy orange T-shirt and a pair of large butterfly sunglasses, the actress cut a ridiculous figure as she clutched a bottle of energy drink in her hand.

After a series of bit-parts and failed projects, Mischa Barton was clearly thrilled to be finally getting back to work as she filmed in Beverly Hills.

The O.C. star wore a typically quirky ensemble as she walked around the upmarket suburb followed by a camera crew.

She sported some head-turning bright red lederhosen-style shorts over an aztec-print shorts. Hey, at least she added some chic accessories to the bizarre outfit with a tan bag and two-tone ankle boots.

A mike pack was visible peeking out from the back of Mischa’s high-waisted shorts as a cameraman shadowed her.

Mischa Barton & Dita Von Teese : ‘Canine Couture’ Chic !

Mischa Barton & Dita Von Teese attended an exclusive luncheon to preview the launch of Dsquared’s Limited Edition Leash and Collar Set for Dogs for yoox.com. The leash and collar sets will be sold exclusively on Yoox.com this holiday season, starting mid November.

The proceeds from the launch, underwritten by yoox.com, and sales of the luxe dog collars and leases will benefit Much Love Animal Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding safe, loving homes for unwanted, neglected or abused animals. Paris Hilton, Rumer Willis and Anjelica Huston were also on attendance.

Mischa Barton : ‘Music Box’ Night !

Looking a bit worn out from a late night on the town, a bare-faced  Mischa Barton was spotted in West Hollywood, CA on Sunday (October 18).

The former “OC” star happened to be heading back home after watching South African hip-hop band Die Antwoord perform at the Music Box.

She’s also always been an animal lover, and  Mischa Barton was spotted chilling out at the Pup-Peroni Couch Talk Event yesterday (October 14) in Encino, Calfornia.

The “Beautiful Life” babe took her pooch pal with her as she mingled around the Balboa Sports Center while the paparazzi looked on.

In a recent interview, Ms. Barton revealed that she struggles with depression, though she copes by surrounding herself with friends who love her.

“As much as I get down, I’m an upbeat person. People always think of me as kind of a light in a room. I love to make people laugh.”

Brittany Snow & Mischa Barton : Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic !

Brittany Snow and Mischa Barton stepped out at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic Los Angeles held at Will Rogers State Historic Park on Sunday (October 10) in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Brittany bloomed in a floral strapless dress, flat sandals, and pulled-back hair. She completed her look with Joan Hornig jewelry.

Brittany has been speaking out in her Love is Louder campaign to combat bullying!

Meanwhile, Mischa Barton made a brave attempt at 20s chic – but the result was more flapper girl failure !

Mischa, who is fast becoming better known for her sartorial disasters than for her acting prowess, wore an unflattering black dress cut to just below the knee teamed with what looked like a dead raccoon on her head.

At least the hat, which was made of black and white feathers, covered some of her hair – which had been dyed an unflattering bright  blonde and looked in dire need of a deep conditioning treatment.

And while the flat two-tone pumps were probably a wise move to avoid the heels-stuck-in-the-grass situation – they did little to lift the fomer OC star’s unfortunate outfit choice and left her legs looking dumpy.

Also hanging out at the polo was Minnie Driver, 40, wearing a strapless floral number accompanied with possibly the world’s smallest handbag.

Mischa Barton : ‘Simply Stunning’ Shindig

Always up for a fun-filled event,  Mischa Barton attended an exclusive “Simply Stylist” party in West Hollywood, California on Monday evening (October 11).

The former “OC” babe looked glamorous in a black velvet ensemble as she posed for pictures during the posh Caro Marketing event.

Aside from her nightlife loving nature, the 24-year-old actress recently filmed an episode for the “Fearne and….” show and is none too pleased with the way Fearne Cotton portrayed her.

Barton told, “I think that Fearne Cotton’s show is a joke and she’s a joke. I can’t hear Fearne’s name without seeing red, because it seems to me that she just wants to further her career by talking about young actresses and not in a particularly positive way.”

She added, “I cried my eyes out when I first saw it because I was like: ‘Are you kidding me? This is the way you want to portray me? I’ve let you into my life.”

Mischa Barton : Another ‘BLAH’ Outfit

Her former stylist Rachel Zoe must be shaking her head in wonder. Mischa Barton, who used to top ‘Best Dressed’ lists regularly, has stepped out in her third horrendous outfit in as many weeks.

The 24-year-old wore a strange brown patterned tunic with a frilly white blouse to run errands in Los Angeles yesterday.

The awkward length of the outfit combined with lace-up boots and disheveled hair did not make for a flattering ensemble.

The former O.C. actress picked up some food and chatted on her phone as she filled her classic convertible with petrol.

Style Weekly : Celebs Heart ‘Hippie Style’

mischa_hippie_1

Hippies were all about peace and love in the 1970s. They were fun-loving, war-hating, drug dealing sweethearts that eventually became CEOs of the major corporations that they despised. Somewhere in the magic of the 70s, hippies developed their own brand of fashion. It was a convenience, easy style that still inspires two generations later.

If you weren’t around in the 70s, you may only be relying on old photos, television, or other people’s memories to understand hippie fashion. Comfort was the primary emphasis for hippie fashion. They weren’t interested in very structured looks. Their clothing and appearance was very free-flowing and open. Of course, hippies were also counter-culture. They sought to do what was different from mainstream society. Hippies would never have worn a suit and tie. They would never cut their hair. They were peaceful, but dogmatic rebels.

Women wear bell bottom jeans with ironed on patches. If you want to look more feminine, wear a long, flowing dress, or a peasant skirt. Hippie women loved bohemian clothes, especially the peasant blouses and skirts with printed designs on them. Sometimes, hippies wore mini-skirts or mini-dresses.

Hippie women looked similar to men with long, straight hair. They would add freshly picked flowers to their hair. Some hippie women would take several daisies, or similar flowers, are string them together, creating a band. They would then wear the flower band around their hair. Fabric head bands were also popular, along with head scarves.

Hippies always wore sandals or flip flops whenever possible, and in the winter, they wore boots. Women wore boots also, with their dresses. Women never wore high heels. Make sure you wear the flattest shoes possible to carry off this look. Always get into the easy-going spirit whenever you dress like a hippie, because that’s the most important part of the equation.
