Dior Celebrates The Reopening Of Its 57th Street Boutique

“Gossip Girl” cutie Leighton Meester opted for a subtle look, sporting all-black Dior and loose, casual waves at the fancy cocktail soiree.

Natalie Portman, wearing a Dior frock, natch, struck a pose with the French fashion house’s designer, John Galliano, at the reopening of its flagship store on 57th Street in New York City. The “Black Swan” actress was also announced as the new face of the brand’s Miss Dior Cherie perfume that night.

Liv Tyler sported an asymmetric gray Fall 2010 Christian Dior ruffled chiffon mini over a black long-sleeved top and opaque tights, paired with a heavy feather and bead necklace. Do you think her look is hot … or not?

Czech supermodel Karolina Kurkova showed off her mile-long legs in a sheer, tiered frock and tailored blazer. Black buckled ankle boots and tights completed her stylish look.

In keeping with the dark trend of the night, Amy Adams donned a form-fitting navy bow-front Dior dress, and accessorized with a jeweled clutch and gray animal print heels.

Karlie Kloss who is the also the face of Dior, looked beautiful and fresh faced in her asymmetrical two-tone dress with gold heels and a black clutch.

Dree Hemmingway was my favourite at this event. She added a slouchy grey sweater to her gorgeous Christian Dior floral layered dress. I love the pink belt she wears over her sweater.

IFP’s 20th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards

Proving that she can look like a million dollars in just about anything, “Black Swan” actress Natalie Portman wowed the crowd at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in a $199 one-shoulder Lanvin for H&M frock. The stylish star completed her look with black velvet heels, Tiffany & Co. earrings, and a silver studded Christian Dior clutch.

Joining Black Swan co-star and real-life pal Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis looked adorable in a navy Oscar de la Renta Spring 2011 corset dress cinched with a studded belt.

Few stars could pull off this daring lace mini, but it was a stunning choice for Hilary Swank who paired it perfectly with leg-lengthening strappy heels and bouncy waves pushed back from the crown.

Anne Hathaway has been a red carpet whirlwind of late promoting her current film Love and Other Drugs, but she proved she still has a stunning dress or two up her sleeve as she stepped put in this figure-hugging vintage rose-print shift by Dolce & Gabbana.

We love nothing more than a girly girl working menswear. Check out Leighton Meester in this grey peg-legged suit and loose tie. The Gossip Girl actress softened the look with a pair of satin pumps and a green clutch back. Blair Waldorf wouldn’t be caught dead in this look but Leighton pulls it off with aplomb.

Winona Ryder had opted for an ultra-girlie look at the Gotham Film Awards in a ballerina-esque lace dress by Dolce & Gabbana completed with a wavy up-do and delicate kitten heels.

Redhead beauty Julianne Moore worked a funky draped feather-print mini, sheer plum-coloured tights and wavy locks at the night to celebrate the best in independent film.

While most of her fellow stars opted for mini lengths, Amanda Peet went boho chic for the Gotham Independent Film Awards in a sheer layered maxi topped with a neat velvet blazer.

Amber Tamblyn donned a neutral toned cocktail dress with a simple cut and a soft center front ruffle. Amber paired her loose bun with chain embellished earrings.

Julianna Margulies vamped up her black dress by Narciso Rodriguez with a swipe of tomato red lipstick.

“Black Swan” New York Premiere

It would only be fitting for the star of Black Swan to don a dramatic black dress for the film’s premiere. Natalie Portman was gorgeously mysterious in an off-the-shoulder maxi-gown and a chic little book-shaped clutch by Olympia Le-Tan (the very same one worn by Clemence Poesy at the Harry Potter world premiere). A bold red lip added a glamour to the look.

Keep your eyes on this lady. Not only is Mila Kunis a talented actress (comedic roles in That 70s Show and Meg’s voice on Family Guy and a dramatic turn in Black Swan) but she’s seriously stylish, too. Just check out her nude-coloured gown and matching Christian Louboutin ‘Maggie’ pumps, worn to the New York premiere of Black Swan. She looks elegant, sexy and trendy at the same time. And the look couldn’t be more different from the short navy Oscar de la Renta number she wore the night before. We love a girl with fashion range!

Winona Ryder donned a more masculine style on the red carpet. Here she wore a boxy tuxedo jacket with slim pants and a leather clutch. She added a subtle touch to her black suit with a pendant necklace, a glamorous pair of onyx and diamond hoop earrings, and a black satin clutch.

Look Of The Week : Kim, Natalie, Carla, Halle, Hathaway, Alexa, Sarah, Beyonce, Krysten, Emma, Anna, Bosworth

Kim Kardashian chose a ’50s-chic gray sheath (with lace kick pleats!) for a Charmin event.  The entrepreneur should always go retro! The waist-enhancing silhouette of the vintage-inspired number flattered the multitasking star’s timeless curves.

Trust Natalie Portman to pick the simplest outfit and still be the most stunning gal in the room. The Black Swan actress was gorgeous in a little white dress with sheer overlay and bow-tie belt by John Galliano for Dior. A pair of black pumps and smokey eyes was all she needed to add drama to the look.

Carla Gugino stole the spotlight at the Los Angeles premiere of her new action flick, “Faster,” in a shimmering Georges Chakra Couture dress, matching peep-toes, and chic updo. Her outfit is a bit bold (and a bit ice skater-y), but we love it!

Looking radiant in white, Halle Berry wore a stunning strapless dress by Pamella Roland to the screening of her new movie Frankie & Alice in New York. A simple diamond jewel encrusted clutch was all she needed to add a little gleaming polish to her look.

Across the country at NYC’s highly anticipated “Love and Other Drugs” premiere, Anne Hathaway took a risk (that totally paid off) by sporting this cute ‘n’ classy Valentino dress, which featured floral tiers and an enchanting bow.

Alexa Chung moved away from her trademark preppy chic look for something a little more ladylike as she attended the premiere of Love and Other Drugs. The gorgeous Brit worked a delicate silk floral Valentino SS11 dress teamed with pretty bow heels.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s a lady who knows what works for her, and a tailored Vivienne Westwood dress was as-ever, the perfect fit at the Harry Potter New York premiere. The Sex and the City star elongated her petite frame with a volumous skirt that sits just above the ankle to reveal her eye-catching Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Beyonce Knowles looked marvelous in a beaded Naeem Khan mini and strappy Christian Louboutins while attending a screening of “I Am … World Tour” at the School of Visual Arts Theater in New York City.

Krysten Ritter arrived at the BFF & Baby wrap party in Hollywood wearing a silver sequin Reem Acra mini, Carla Amorim earrings and Valentino peep-toe heels.

Emma Roberts tucked her Zac Posen printed blouse into a pair of the designer’s form-fitting bondage pants for the boutiques.com launch party in New York.

Anna Paquin certainly knows how to work a body-con dress. The True Blood star, who hit the Boutique.com party with her new hubby and co-star Stephen Moyer, looked sexy in a fitted metallic shift with geometric panels. She teamed it with Hollywood’s go-to shoe: the peep-toe Louboutins.

Kate Bosworth got all dolled up for the premiere of The Warrior’s Way in a white floral and lace frock by Erdem and dainty, strappy metallic sandals. The fashion-savvy actress matched the retro-chic look with a vintage-style hairdo and a bright pink lipstick. Swoon!

Look Of The Week : Watson, Natalie, Mila, Elizabeth, Rachel, Dita, Mendes, Lauren, Greene, Lea

Emma Watson worked her magic at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 London premiere, wowing crowds in a sizzling sheer black lace and feather Rafael Lopez for Atelier Mayer dress. A far cry from her alter ego, Hermione’s schoolgirl look, Emma showed off her killer pins in a pair of black Charlotte Olympia pumps and added a super sophisticated edge with some sparkly Solange Azagury Partridge jewelled drop earrings.

Emma Watson also rocked Gothic chic look on the red carpet at a Warner Brothers event in London in a one-shoulder velvet and satin dress by Vionnet. The Harry Potter star, who recently cropped her hair, accessorised with statement jewellery, including chandelier earrings, an oversized pendant and a studded cuff.

Natalie Portman was utterly divine at the Academy Governors Awards in a magenta asymmetrical gown by Lanvin and matching strappy sandals by Stella McCartney. The Black Swan actress kept the rest simple with a chic up-do and elegant gold jewellery. More …

Camilla Belle chose a Carlos Miele sheath for the InStyle and Hollywood Foreign Press Association party for the Toronto International Film Festival. The actress revealed her natural beauty in a sexy-meets-sophisticated illusion dress. The skin-baring design featured abstract lace layered over a printed nude underpinning.

Eva Mendes flaunted those killer curves in the perfect fit-and-flare dress at the premiere of The Other Guys in London last night. The actress, who almost had a Marilyn Monroe moment when the wind kicked up, gets fashion kudos for eschewing black shoes in favour of purple satin ones and accessorising with a vintage floral Prada clutch.

Carey Mulligan worked a mid-length black Elie Saab Fall 2010 panelled tea dress at a special screening of her new movie Never Let Me Go. The Brit actress teamed her LBD with some cute satin peeptoes and went for bold smoky eyes to make for an ultra smouldering look!

Always a treat to see, Gwen Stefani didn’t hold back when it came to livening up her black ensemble with a bold blue and orange blazer. Heading out to New York Fashion Week, the L.A.M.B designer wore her trademark red lippy and oversized shades.

Look Of The Week : Cate, Agron, Natalie, Yeoh, Katie

Cate Blanchett kept it simple but gorgeously chic in a black plunging v-neck Alexander McQueen dress. A slick of red lipstick and a neat cropped ‘do were all the accessories she needed to complete her ultra elegant look.

Back in Los Angeles, gorgeous “Glee” co-star Dianna Agron was spotted at a Season 2 premiere screening of the hit musical in a luscious lemon Carolina Herrera dress, Neil Lane jewels, and Louboutin peep-toes.

For a Venice Film Festival event in honor of Black Swan, Natalie Portman paired a plum pleated Miu Miu dress with nude satin Charles David platforms and a quilted Christian Dior clutch.

Our other festival fave was 48-year-old action heroine Michelle Yeoh, who put women half her age to shame at the “Reign of Assassins” premiere in a fabulous Alberta Ferretti frock and statement earrings, courtesy of Boucheron.

Channelling the Jackie O look, Katie Holmes worked the leopard print trend in her outerwear as she prepared to appear on the Tonight Show. Sticking to the rules of print, she kept it simple by teaming the bold trench with a black dress and nude heels. A pair of dark shades were all she needed to give her look a sultry vintage edge.
