2010 British Fashion Awards

Victoria Beckham was uber-chic at the British Fashion Awards, held at London’s Savoy Hotel, in a long black gown of her own design. The super-star, who was flying solo at the event, lost out on the Designer Brand gong, but enjoyed the evening nonetheless, rubbing shoulders with Samantha Cameron, who has just joined the British Fashion Council as an advisor for London Fashion Week as of next February. The PM’s wife, who recently gave birth to daughter Florence, looked fantastic in a waist-cinching Osman Yousefzada gown.

Naomi Campbell was stunning at the British Fashion Awards in a carpet-sweeping gown by Alexander McQuuen. The supermodel was awarded the Special Recognition gong at the ceremony, paid homage to the late designer, and thanked the label’s current creative director, Sarah Burton, for making not one but two dresses for her to choose from for the evening. On stage Naomi also thanked her mother, Valerie Campbell, and her partner, Vladimir Doronin, for putting up with a “wild woman”.

A Chanel-clad Alexa Chung was crowned Style Icon of the Year at the British Fashion Awards. The gong, which was the only one to be voted on by the British public, was presented to her by singer Bryan Ferry.

Despite the bitter cold, a host of celebrities were spotted in spring/summer outfits, including Thandie Newton who teamed a pretty printed Peter Pilotto frock with super-strappy sandals by Nicholas Kirkwood (who picked up the Accessory Designer of the Year award).

German supermodel Claudia Schiffer rocked an asymmetrical cream, bronze and navy frock by London-based designer Mary Katrantzou. Opaque black leggings and snug black booties helped her to brave the wintery weather in style.

Emma Roberts showed a surprising bit of skin in a flirty little Julien MacDonald frock. She kept the short length from looking too scandalous with opauq black tights and black peep-toe ankle booties.

Calvin Klein spokesmodel Lara Stone slipped into a starkly minimalist little white sheath and black strappy sandals. It would have been nice to see her command the red carpet in an over-the-top ballgown, but she looked fantastic all the same.

Gilrs Aloud songstress Kimberley Walsh was pretty in a tulip-shaped frock in stand-out gold.

Daisy Lowe chose a dramatic black gown by Elie Saab and a matching Gothic-style clutch by Pauric Sweeney for the British Fashion Awards, where she caught up with A-list pals Alexa Chung and Alice Dellal.

Kelly Brook probably felt a night has been wasted if she hasn’t turned some heads. It’s safe to say this over-the-top corseted Suzie Turner dress did the trick, especially paired with those Jimmy Choo cage heels.

You may not recognise model Lily Cole because she’s had a hair makeover. The leggy lady has gone from flame red to chocolate brown and looked super-sexy at the event in a Julien Macdonald dress.

Professional ballroom dancer Kristina Rhianoff opted to wear a whimsical feathered strapless dress that might have been nabbed from the Dancing With the Stars wardrobe department.

Erin O’Connor looked retro chic in this lovely print chiffon cocktail dress. She also showed off a classic French twist.

Victoria demonstrates the merits of a fabulous coat in a Burberry design from the fall collection. She teamed the coat with Christian Louboutin black boots and a bag and sunglasses from her own collection.

And while she frequently makes trips back to England, Posh’s hubby David Beckham recently told the LA Times that the family has no impending plans on moving back to Europe.

As the one of the most photographed women in the world, she usually makes sure to step out in clothing from her own collection.

But stylish Victoria Beckham is also happy to promote other talented creatives, and this weekend credited the designers behind her head-turning look.

Stepping out for a bit of retail therapy in Notting Hill, Posh was stylishly clad in an eye-popping pair of red leather trousers by French designer Isabel Marant.

Victoria Beckham : Marie Claire ‘Goddess’

Victoria Beckham keeps it sexy in some Eres lingerie on the November 2010 cover of Marie Claire, on stands Oct. 12.

When asked about her husband David Beckham’s voice, Victoria defended him.The 36-year-old former Spice Girl said, “I don’t really notice that he’s got a high-pitched voice. I just think he’s so goddamn perfect that people have to find something wrong with him.

We were about to go out somewhere the other day, and he was sending an email. He was sitting at the end of the bed, and he had no clothes on whatsoever. I was getting out of the shower, and I just stood there looking at him.

He was all tan. Has all those tattoos, which I love. Hadn’t done his hair. He just naturally looks good all the time. He never looks like s–t in the morning. Never. So he’s sitting there sending his e-mails, all ripped. Not an ounce of fat on him. And I thought, you done good, girl. I sure wasn’t thinking of his high-pitched voice.”

On Tuesday (October 5), Victoria Beckhmam spotted leaving Scott’s Restaurant wearing a Roberto Cavalli Resort 2011 ensemble. The look included a silk pleated blouse and a ultra mini skirt which looks like skorts on the model.

As much as the ‘pencil dress’ is very much her style, I much prefer her when she’s looking more relaxed like this. She teamed her look with a rose gold rolex, her favourite rose gold Anita Ko spike bracelet, Brian Atwood heels and a two-tone bag from her own collection.
